Highways Programme 2022/2023

The Highways Programme for 2021/22 included major works throughout the county and we have successfully completed works at over twenty locations. Three schemes have been moved over to 2022/23 due to combining with other works in the vicinity to get better value for money and to minimise disruption.

Increase in the allocation for this year to £4 million has allowed us to review our approach to the surfacing programme giving us the opportunity to include many more minor roads which we haven’t been able to do previously. Having matched the available budget to the roads in greatest need of improvement the locations for this year are listed on the webpage Roads Surfacing Programme 2022-23. We are still in the process of confirming dates with our contractors and these will be added to the webpage once confirmed.

Over and above these major works we also undertake improvement works by our in-house teams. These entail the closure of roads so that patching, drainage and other ancillary works can take place resulting in long lasting enhancements. Over and above this we are also currently deploying our Jetpatcher machine which has recently been working in the Tremeirchion and Cyffylliog areas.

The Highways Team: Report a problem

The Highways team are responsible for the maintenance and repair of all 1,400 kilometres of Denbighshire roads.

This can range from the repair of potholes right up to resurfacing schemes costing in excess of £300,000.

When an issue is reported we’ll ensure that the problem is assessed and made safe if required, before carrying out any necessary works.
