Council Steps Up Action to Tackle Fly-Tipping and Environmental Crime
Denbighshire County Council has recently strengthened its commitment to tackling environmental crime through investment in its new Environmental Crime and Behaviour Change Team.

Denbighshire County Council has recently strengthened its commitment to tackling environmental crime through investment in its new Environmental Crime and Behaviour Change Team.
The expanded team builds on the work of the existing Enforcement Team and forms part of the Council's wider investment in improving the cleanliness and appearance of communities across the county.
In recent weeks, officers have been carrying out targeted enforcement and education activities across known fly-tipping and environmental crime hotspots. This has included the issuing of Fixed Penalty Notices, warning letters and Section 46 Notices to residents & businesses who have failed to comply with waste presentation and storage requirements.
The team has also increased patrols in problem areas, coordinated clean-up operations and installed additional signage and CCTV cameras to deter offenders and gather evidence where offences occur.
Cllr Barry Mellor, Lead Member for Environment and Transport, said: “Fly-tipping is a criminal offence that damages the environment, blights local communities and places an unnecessary financial burden on taxpayers. The Council is committed to taking robust enforcement action against those responsible while continuing to educate residents on their responsibilities for disposing of waste correctly.
“Residents are encouraged to dispose of their waste responsibly, make use of the Council's recycling and waste collection services, and report incidents of fly-tipping to help protect Denbighshire's environment for everyone.”
If you have information about fly-tipping or any other environmental offence, please report it via the Denbighshire County Council website or contact our Customer Services team on 01824 706000.
