Free play day to return to Rhyl playing fields to celebrate National Play Day
Following on from a highly successful event last year, children and families from across Denbighshire are once again invited to take part in a free day of play held at Christchurch Playing Fields in Rhyl.

This year, Rhyl’s Oak Tree Centre will host Denbighshire’s National Play Day event on the 5th of August, running from 11am to 3pm.
Organised by Denbighshire County Council’s Play Ranger service to help children enjoy their summer holiday, the free event will feature a host of activities including circus skills, bouncy castles, bird box making, arts and crafts, giant games and much more.
This will be the 11th time that this hugely popular event will be held to celebrate National Play Day.

“We are excited to be delivering the hugely popular National Play Day event again in Rhyl for the 11th year.
This year’s theme highlights the importance of creating opportunities for children to play wherever they are.
Play happens here, there and everywhere, from living rooms to school gates, to streets, parks, and neighbourhoods. It’s a part of children’s everyday life, and has a monumental impact on their happiness, health, and wellbeing.”

We welcomed almost 3,500 people last year, who all joined us once again to celebrate National Play Day at Christchurch Playing Fields in Rhyl.
