An Eventful Summer for Denbighshire Heritage

The heritage sites in Denbighshire are busy preparing for the months ahead. With a variety of events held across the sites, the events can tailor to all ages and interests.

Ruthin Gaol have recently been awarded the Hidden Gem Award by Visit Wales for a second year running, have brought in picnic tables into the courtyard so customers can enjoy the summer sun whilst eating their lunch.

Staff have prepared a host of summer activities for children and adults to complete during their visit around the Gaol.

Nantclwyd y Dre is now open 5 days a week. The fully refurbished Lord’s Garden is now looking at its best thanks to the work of our gardener and volunteers. Customers can experience the secret garden and find a peaceful spot in the middle of the bustling market town of Ruthin. Customers can make use of the garden only ticket at Nantclwyd y Dre and make the most of the sunshine in the Lord’s Garden.

We are always looking for new volunteers to help out in the garden at Nantclwyd y Dre and if you’d like to spare some of your time then please contact the heritage team by e-mailing heritage@denbighshire.gov.uk or by calling 01824 708232.

Nantclwyd y Dre will be a part of the festival of gardens which is taking place in North Wales this year. This will allow members of the scheme to claim a 20% discount off their admission to the house and gardens for the duration of the festival.
