Rhyl Central car park opens after major renovation

Rhyl Central Car Park has opened after a major renovation which has seen improved signage, two new pedestrian entrances and an additional ramp to improve accessibility, new lighting, ventilation, and improved CCTV coverage.

This work has transformed the car park, offering residents and visitors to Rhyl a better experience.

The car park has been fitted with new energy efficient lighting and we have ensured the car park feels safer and looks more attractive.

We'd like to thank everyone for their patience while this work was carried out. The current regeneration programme for Rhyl aims to increase the number of tourists and visitors to the resort and this car park helps accommodate those visitors while improving traffic management in the town.

The regeneration of Rhyl is part of the Council’s work to support well-being and economic prosperity in the county and this work will continue with the Rhyl Town Centre Masterplan.

New pay and display machines have been installed which accept chip and pin card and contactless payment in addition to cash.

Nadeem Ahmad, Chair of the Rhyl Business Improvement District, and owner of Chrome Menswear and the Jean Emporium, said: “I'm delighted the newly refurbished Central Car Park is now open.

“A lot of hard work has gone into its modernisation, providing a user friendly, safe and secure parking space, linking well with the High Street with clearly displayed and multiple, up-to-date payment options.”
