Council teams come together for Denbigh and Flint Show

Denbighshire County Council teams are making final preparations to bring a range of service areas to this year’s Denbigh and Flint Show, taking place at The Green, Denbigh, on Thursday 20 August 2026.

Visitors to the Council stand will be able to meet staff from a number of teams and find out more about the work being carried out across the county to support communities, protect the local environment and help Denbighshire respond to the challenges of climate change.

Fleet Services will be showcasing a selection of electric vehicles, including Council fleet vehicles and dealer-supplied electric vehicles, to highlight how this technology helps provide cleaner, lower-emission transport. Staff will be available to talk to show visitors about the role electric vehicles can play in reducing emissions, improving air quality and supporting more sustainable ways of public and private transport.

The Council’s Climate team will also be on hand to discuss their programme of work linked to tackling climate change and supporting the Council’s wider ambitions to reduce carbon emissions and protect biodiversity. Visitors will be able to learn more about the practical steps being taken across Council services and how individuals, businesses and communities can get also involved.

Members of the Flood Risk team will be available to explain the important work they do to manage and reduce flood risk across Denbighshire, including how they work with communities and partner organisations to improve understanding, preparedness and resilience.

The Recycling Advisors from Denbighshire County Council’s Waste & Recycling Service will also be at the show, speaking with visitors about recycling, reducing waste and how we can support households to recycle more effectively. The team will provide helpful information, advice and fun activities to help residents understand what can be recycled, how to recycle correctly and how small changes at home can make a big difference.

Councillor Barry Mellor, Denbighshire County Council’s Lead Member for Environment and Transport, said: “The Denbigh and Flint Show is a fantastic opportunity for our residents and visitors to speak directly with our teams and find out more about the work taking place across Denbighshire. From electric vehicles and climate action to flood risk and recycling, our staff will be there to answer questions, share advice and explain how these services support communities across the county.”

The Council is encouraging anyone attending the show to visit the stand, meet the teams and learn more about the services helping to deliver a greener, safer and more sustainable Denbighshire.
