Young people transform VIBE STATION with new artwork

Young people in Rhyl have helped transform VIBE STATION with a vibrant new piece of artwork, sharing their ideas about wellbeing and what the space means to them before working alongside artist DIME to bring their vision to life.

The project, delivered through Working Denbighshire’s wellbeing service, Barod, gave young people the opportunity to play an active role in shaping the environment at VIBE STATION. They were invited to explore what wellbeing means to them and share their thoughts and ideas, which helped shape the themes behind the artwork.

Art can provide an alternative way for people to express feelings, communicate and explore ideas, particularly when putting thoughts into words can be difficult. By using creativity as part of the project, the young people were able to contribute in a different way while developing a stronger sense of ownership over the space.

The finished artwork, created through creativity, planning and teamwork, celebrates VIBE STATION and the people and community it supports.

“The artwork reflects what VIBE STATION stands for. Created through creativity, planning and teamwork, the ‘Find Your Path’ message captures our commitment to helping residents of Denbighshire discover their strengths, build confidence and find the path that’s right for them.

“We’re incredibly proud of what the young people have achieved and the energy and colour they’ve brought to VIBE STATION.”

Artist DIME, who worked with the young people during the project, said:

“I had a great day working with the team and young people at VIBE STATION. It was really good to see them get creative and get involved.”

The project highlights how creative activities can support wellbeing while giving young people the opportunity to contribute to the spaces around them and see their ideas become something tangible.
