Fly-tipper hit with £250 fine after public report Fly-tipping near local library

A resident who illegally dumped domestic waste near Rhuddlan Library has been fined £250 following an investigation by Denbighshire County Councils Environmental Crime Team.

The fly-tip was reported to the council by a member of the public through the Councils online reporting page.

Following an investigation by the council’s Environmental Crime Team – which carried out detailed enquiries and gathered evidence from within the fly-tip – officers were able to identify the offender and issued a £250 Fixed Penalty Notice.

This demonstrates how information from residents can directly lead to action against those who spoil Denbighshire’s environment.

Cllr Barry Mellor, Lead Member for Environment and Transport, said: "Our message is clear: fly-tipping and irresponsible waste disposal will not be tolerated in Denbighshire. We will continue to take robust action against those who contribute to environmental crime and work to keep our county clean and safe for everyone."
